North Caribou Lake
Check out the map -look for the biggest body of water and you've located North Caribou Lake. North Caribou is over 30 miles long and 12 miles wide - you would think a lake so vast would be the home to several outpost camps and maybe even a full scale lodge. Not so! In spite of its huge size, the MNR is very restrictive on development on this lake and have allowed only one other outpost camp in addition to ours, which is why North Caribou remains one of the region's consistent champion producers of trophy Northern Pike. Since the only other cabin is 10 miles away, the chances of seeing another group on this lake during your trip is very remote. This is perhaps one of the most interesting lakes in the region, offering the fishermen several hundred miles of shoreline, countless bays and dozens of islands. This is truly a trophy northern pike fishermen's paradise, but don't let the size of the lake intimidate you. You don't need to travel far from camp to catch fish on North Caribou. In fact, our unique camp location on the northwest shore just adjacent to the rivers outlet was chosen to allow the fishermen easy access to both lake and river fishing. So even on those windy days fishermen can fish the quiet calm shorelines of the channel just to the north of the camp. Big water usually means big fish and North Caribou will not disappoint you. Year after year, North Caribou guests catch and release trophy northern pike in the 18-22 lb range. Our outpost camp can accommodate up to a group of ten and we have a minimum of 8 to book this location. Our camp features a relaxing sauna.
