Markop Lake
Here's a unique fishing opportunity adventure for a group of 2-4 who enjoy trying something new! Marktop Lake is
just over 2 miles long and yet consistently produces exceptional walleye and northern pike fishing all season long.
Not only that, but from this rustic outpost location, you have easy access to a very seldom fished section of the Pipestone
River. The Pipestone is a famous secondary Northern Ontario tributary system connecting dozens of cold northern lakes
as it flows north to connect to the mighty Winisk River which empties into Hudson Bay. Groups who have a spirit for adventures
need only take a short ten minute walk through a park like setting of pines to the waiting boats and motors cached here for your convenience. From the boat cache, you
have miles of water to fish in either direction. This section of river anually sees very little action and groups who make the ten minute
walk will be amply rewarded with fast action on 2-6 lb walleye. Have your tackle prepared for trophy northern pike and expect plenty of
action in the 8-10 lb range. You will be assured of an exciting week of fishing, alternating lake fishing in Markop and River fishing
on the Pipestone.
