Assin Lake
Here is the perfect site for the large group looking for plenty of action on Walleyes and Northerns.
Assin is one of our most northern outpost locations on the Pipestone River chain and offers you access to
over 12 miles of lake and river fishing. Our camp is actually located right on the Pipestone River, just a mile from the inlet, which means you never need
to travel far to catch all the fish you want. exploring new waters however, is what fishing is all about and every day can be a new fishing adventure at the Assin Lake Outpost.
Travel up the Pipestone River for 7 miles where you will reach a large set of rapids- don't worry, the current is coming at you.
The base of the rapids is always great walleye fishing and this place is no exception. Have light spinning gear and plenty of twister tails on hand for this spot.
The lake and river, which give you access to almost 5 miles of water, provide plenty of action on walleye and northern pike. Bring plenty of tackle,
because in this cold northern lake, these fish are hungry and aggressive. There's plenty of action in the river for big northern pike but Assin Lake is noted for its
big walleyes, so come prepared for battle. Both ultra light along with medium spinning gear is recommended and bring a good variety of spoons, plugs, jigs and
twister tails. For real action, bring a selection of surface plugs for the calm waters of early morning or late evening. Since some of the best
surface fishing for both walleye and northern pike is under a mile from camp, you can count on plenty of action for those early morning catches before breakfast
or late evening after supper. This is a popular location for large groups so book early to avoid disappointment.
